The Ark, Assisted Living Residence

The ARK has a long history of providing personalized assisted living services. Formally run by a small nonprofit corporation, the ARK was acquired by Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. in August 2007. The residence is a single family home with private apartments and shared baths. The residence can serve up to six residents.

Services

The ARK provides a full range of assisted living services for individuals 55 years and older. Medical services are not provided such as in a long-term care facility or nursing home. Some specialized services relating to activities of daily living can be accommodated. The residence is staffed on a 24-hour basis. The ARK accepts private, third party and Medicaid paying residents.

Meals

Meals are provide in a “family style setting” in a large common kitchen and dining room area. Meals are served to the residents in a group setting or on an individual basis. Three meals and snacks are served each day.

Activities

Some residents are transported on weekdays to Friendship Center Adult Day Services, which is run at the Homer Senior Center by Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. Residents are also included in the activities program at Friendship Terrace Assisted Living Residence a larger residence operated by Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. when possible.

Apartments

Each resident has their own private apartment; however, the bathroom is shared, as are the living room, kitchen and dining room.

Rental and Service Fees

Rent and Meals (Room and Board) $1,100 per month
Assisted Living Service Fees $4,400 per month
