Friendship Terrace ( Assisted Living Residence) is a 40 apartment complex serving residents 60 and older who require assistance with two or more activities of daily living. Resident Assistants are on duty 24 hours a day.
Kachemak Bay Senior Housing ( Independent Residence )
Kachemak Bay Senior Housing is a 24 unit independent living apartment complex located across the street from the Homer Senior Center, Friendship Center and Friendship Terrace. Units are rented as available to seniors 55 years and older.
Pioneer Vistas Senior Housing ( Independent Residence )
Pioneer Vistas Senior Housing is a new 8 unit
independent living apartment building located adjacent to the Homer Senior
Center. Units are rented as available to seniors 55 years and older.
Bartlett
Terrace Senior Housing (Independent Residence)
Bartlett Terrace Senior Housing is a nine-unit facility presently under
construction on Bartlett Street in Homer. It will consist of seven two bedroom
units and two one-bedroom units. All units will have attached garages. This
facility will serve seniors 55 years and older.
The ARK Assisted
Living Residence
The ARK is a small assisted living facility located on Seabreeze Court in
Homer. The ARK has a resident capacity of six individuals who need help with at
least two activities of daily living.
Friendship Center ( Adult Day Services )
The Friendship Center is located within the Homer Senior Center Campus. Fifteen to twenty participants attend the center from a few hours each day to a full day. The center is open five days a week from Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. The Center's qualified staff
provide a variety of activities. This program allows individuals to remain in the community by providing day care so that other members of the family can work and carry out daily activities.
Homer Senior Center
Homer Senior Center contains the dining room, activities and recreational area, a small library and game room, pool room, and the corporate offices of Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. All seniors 55 years and older are encouraged to take part in activities and become members of the
corporation.
Nutrition, Transportation & Support Services
Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. provides hot lunches to individuals in the community and surrounding area who are 60 years or older.
Transportation is available to qualified individuals who are 55 years an older or who are between 18-55 who are
handicapped. Transportation is by reservation on a space available basis. Transportation costs depends on a person's level of
income.
Seniors are served a noon meal Monday through Friday in the dining room of the Homer Senior Center. This provides a good opportunity to get together with friends and catch-up on the latest activities. |
